Position Summary
Finalsite, a leading provider of school website solutions and services, is seeking an energetic, motivated, and team-oriented Product Designer to design delightful user interfaces and experiences. Come join us in our Glastonbury, CT office, where you will have the opportunity to add value to our agile product development process and take our web-based software experiences to the next level in a friendly, fun, and fast-paced environment.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Create low-fidelity wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs to effectively communicate UX/UI concepts to team members.
  • Provide UX/UI guidance for new features, and recommend workflow and usability improvements as we modify existing features.
  • Assist in conducting qualitative and quantitative user research to enable us to make informed and data-driven design decisions. This can include A/B testing, moderated or unmoderated user testing, personas, etc.
  • Promote and teach user experience principles and best practices within the development team and throughout the organization. This can include living style guides, pattern libraries, how to’s, etc.
  • Work with developers to design and maintain living design systems and component libraries to promote consistency across our applications.
  • Contribute to our effort to build accessibility/ADA compliance into all aspects of our platform.
Education, Experience and Skills Required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Web Design, User Experience Design, Interactive Media, Human Factors/Psychology, or related field.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience producing wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual designs, using tools such as Sketch and InVision.
  • 3+ years experience designing feature-rich, responsive websites — preference given to those with experience building large-scale SaaS applications or content management systems.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining living style guides and UX/UI guidelines.
  • Experience working in an agile development process, collaborating closely with other designers, developers, and product managers.
  • Proactive and friendly team player with strong interpersonal skills; ability to present and defend design decisions to various team members and departments.
  • A solid understanding of front-end languages such as HTML/Sass/JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience with user research to determine optimal designs for web applications is a plus.
  • Experience creating UI designs for native mobile applications is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience resolving accessibility/ADA compliance issues for applications and websites is a plus.
  • A passion for solving complex problems and translating them into simple, yet effective design solutions.
  • A solid understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • A strong portfolio of recent design work.

This position is located in Glastonbury, CT. Consideration will be given to remote candidates with outstanding applicable work experience and skills.
