Google made it clear a couple weeks ago that it's no longer the "mobile future" but the "mobile now," and if we don't adapt, we're going to be left in the dust — or on page 7 of search results.
While Google's latest algorithm update has the industry shaking in their boots, our schools are fully prepared for what's ahead with stunning, responsive designs that are eye-catching and engaging on every screen size.
The Website Redesign Playbook
Featured Website Launches
The Williams School | New London, CT
With a modern blue and lime color scheme and lively photos, The Williams School's new website is fun and functional! Whether it's your first time checking out the school or you're ready to apply, Williams makes it easy with an admissions sidebar that outlines the admissions process and links to related pages. That same sidebar also displays their latest social posts when you click it again. (So cool, right?!)
Williams also adds a personal touch by featuring staff with contact information on the admissions, arts and athletics pages. Providing that open door of communication makes prospective students feel the warmth of the close-knit Williams community without ever needing to set foot on campus.
Laguna Beach Unified School District | Laguna Beach, CA
Most public schools districts seek to make their homepage as informative as possible — packed with calendar dates, upcoming events and important notices — and placing marketing as a secondary priority. And while LBUSD does provide some of this timely information on their homepage, we love how LBUSD strays away from the norm and focuses on marketing their district.
With quick access to individual school or district-wide information, upcoming events and recent news, current families can easily find what they're looking for. However, the videos (that are pretty entertaining!) infographic panel and mission statement, LBUSD makes it clear they're also proving to prospective families that they are on the cutting edge of technology and education.
The also district organizes information by school, providing each school in the district its own branded website to share photos, videos, news and events that is specific to them.
Episcopal School of Dallas Summer Programs | Dallas, TX
Responsive and highly organized with online registration — what more could you want from a Summer Programs site? Summer programs are tricky for schools because they are a top searched page, but can be hard to find when buried in a school's sub pages. Episcopal School of Dallas opted for a responsive microsite that's easy to find in search and easy to navigate. Organized by type of camp, grade or date, parents can easily find the summer program that's perfect for the child, and register in just a few clicks. Plus, we love those bright colors!
