WEST GROVE, PENNSYLVANIA | 4 SCHOOLS | 5,000+ STUDENTS
"We wanted to avoid an OCR complaint at all costs — but we didn’t have the time or resources to do so. Finalsite and AudioEye gave us an affordable, workable solution for accessibility that saves us time and money — and we don’t have to do the heavy lifting."
- Gary Mattei | Director of Technology
Avon Grove School District educates more than 5,000 students across four schools in Pennsylvania. As a small district with limited resources and a strong drive for innovation, Avon Grove originally partnered with Finalsite in 2016 to launch a custom website ahead of its time, and then took that website to the next level in 2018 with the implementation of AudioEye, the industry’s most advanced accessibility platform.
When Avon Grove Public Schools switched to Finalsite, they had two key priorities in mind: simplify the user experience for parents and make it easy website admins to update content. According to Gary Mattei, Director of Technology, this mission has easily been accomplished using Composer, Finalsite’s Content Management System.
“Most page managers are secretaries," Mattei said. "What used to take them 20 minutes now takes them two.”
Avon Grove knew they had to do something about accessibility, but had limited time and resources to do so. By choosing to work with Finalsite and AudioEye, the district has a true “set-it-and-forget-it” platform, where all accessibility errors and updates are handled automatically by a team of accessibility engineers.
Additionally, their site features an accessibility toolbar that offers a custom web experience to a diverse group of website visitors.
