Finalsite Schools Take Home Standard of Excellence in the 2015 WebAwards
Mia Major

We're excited to announce that three Finalsite websites have been awarded the Standard of Excellence in the August WebAwards. The Standard of Excellence "recognizes the standard of excellence for which all Web sites should strive. Winners at this level demonstrate that their site is above average."

Judged by industry experts on design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copywriting and ease of use, these award-winning designs are acknowledged for much more than a pretty homepage. The writing, photography, videography, delivery of content, site hierarchy and hierarchy play an equal-weighted-role in this recognition.

Western Reserve Academy, Laguna Beach Unified School District and St. Timothy's School received this notable recognition for the responsive websites that launched late this spring and early on in the summer.

Western Reserve Academy

Noted by TheBestSchools.org as the No. 14 boarding school in the country, WRA has an award-winning site that showcases that noteworthy experience.

"Redesigning a website can be a daunting task, but it needed to be done. We wanted to offer the best user experience possible and essential part of the redesign was making our website responsive devices," said Andy LaMar, Director of Interactive & Webmaster at WRA.

Equipped with a virtual tour, stunning photography, an infographic, creative copywriting, calls-to-action and great video, WRA's site compiles numerous best practices into a cohesive piece of marketing.

Our favorite part of WRA'S site is actually their fun and interactive footer, which actually served as the inspiration for our own footer on finalsite.com!

"The redesign process afforded us the opportunity to research what our users wanted and make updates accordingly," said Andy. "The impact has been wonderful, and we have received positive feedback and continue to do so 6 months later."

Laguna Beach Unified School District

We first acknowledged LBUSD's awesome site back in April. The school's clever videos, organized site structure, interactive call to action buttons, and gorgeous photography (it kind of helps it is in Laguna Beach, CA), immediately caught our eye.

In the competitive California independent school market, we love that LBUSD's new site gives them the ability to compete to fill seats with talented students.

Want to know what else we love about their site? Read their launch feature in this blog post!

St. Timothy's School

St. Timothy's School's new site is clean, organized and informative for both prospective and current families. But the design is the easy part.

What we love most about St. Timothy's School's site (and we think the WebAwards did, too) is their clearly defined value propositions. Docking their value proposition, "Transformative academic excellence. Traditional Christian Values," in the header, overlaying gorgeous photography, this homepage knows how to attract the right audience in just a few seconds. Then, scroll down the homepage and you'll find some pretty compelling testimonials in an interactive scrolling panel. Talk about knowing how to capture your audience!
