School District Website Inspiration: June 2026
Connor Gleason

June is a milestone month for every school district: teams are closing out the academic year, celebrating student achievements, preparing summer updates, and already planning for the first day back (too soon?) That makes these district website launches even more impressive.

This latest group of launches shows how districts are using their websites to support many audiences at once.

  • Families need calendars, menus, enrollment details, school links, and updates.
  • Staff need faster access to tools and resources.
  • Community members want to understand district priorities, student success stories, and ways to stay connected.

These new sites bring those needs together through accessible design, better navigation, and content that's easier to find and use. You’ll see districts making better choices for busy school communities. You’ll also see districts using their websites to tell a fuller story about the people, programs, and progress shaping each district,

Highland Park Independent School District

Highland Park’s new website opens with the district’s motto, “Enter to Learn. Go Forth to Serve,” setting the tone for a site rooted in academic achievement, service, and community pride. From there, the message “Helping Every Student Thrive” introduces the many programs and opportunities available across the district.

Slideshow panels guide visitors into areas like Academic Programs, Fine Arts, Athletics, Preschool, Talented and Gifted, STEAM and Innovation, and Leadership and Extracurricular. Each section gives families a clear way to learn how students can explore their interests, build confidence, and grow from Pre-K through graduation.

The Points of Distinction section adds helpful proof points, including the district’s top 5A/6A ranking in Texas, advanced-degree faculty, Presidential Scholars, National Merit Semifinalists, and All-State musicians. These fast facts give visitors a quick sense of HPISD’s long tradition across academics, arts, athletics, and service.

Design details, like the smooth gradients, create natural transitions down the homepage, while image buttons, image button sliders, timeline treatments, and testimonial cards add depth to the interior pages. The overall effect feels clean, organized, and easy to follow.

  • The site also shares stories from around the district, featuring student achievements, athletic wins, academic recognition, board updates, and other community news.

  • Calendar links and event tools help families keep track of Spirit Days, school events, and district happenings.

  • Navigation is built around the needs of families, staff, board members, and community members. Visitors can explore About, Academics, Departments, Families, Staff, Board, and Stay Connected, while quick access to schools helps families jump directly to the right campus.

The Stay Connected section is especially useful for a community with so many ways to get involved. Families can find information about newsletters, the education foundation, PTA/PTO, Dad’s Club, booster clubs, volunteering, emergency communications, and ways to share news or events.

A few highlights worth checking out:

  • News and Events page organized by district, community, athletic, and calendar content
  • Stay Connected page with PTA/PTO, Dad’s Club, booster clubs, volunteering, and family engagement opportunities

Highland Park ISD’s new website gives families, staff, and community members a better way to explore programs, find resources, and stay connected throughout the year. It’s a proud district that makes the day-to-day experience easier for the people who rely on the site most.

Indianapolis Public Schools

Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) has launched a new website that gives Indiana’s largest public school district a welcoming, organized, and easy-to-use digital home.

The homepage starts with quick links to high-traffic resources, including the calendar, enrollment, schools, employment, Clever, PowerSchool, and staff email. For a district serving more than 30,000 students across 80 square miles, that kind of direct access helps families, students, and staff move quickly to the tools and information they use most.

The site also gives IPS room to tell a complete district story. The “Who We Are” section pairs the district’s mission and vision with voices from staff, alumni, and the broader IPS community to show the district's impact through the people who learn, work, and grow there.

One of the most helpful parts of the homepage is the “Choose Your IPS” section. Families can explore different programs and learning models, including Dual Language, Montessori, STEM, and Exploratory, among many others.

The featured video section adds another useful layer of engagement. Families and community members can find recent board action sessions, leadership series content, and updates from district leadership in one organized place.

The Enrollment page is also worth exploring. It helps families compare programs, find schools, review high school and elementary options, and learn the steps for enrolling. For a large district with many pathways, that organization is key to helping families feel more confident as they search for the right fit.

To move between the district and school sites, visitors can browse by major sections, use keyword search, review popular searches, follow helpful links, or jump directly into school sites. The individual school websites carry a similar look and feel, while still giving each school space to reflect its own community.

Indianapolis Public Schools’ new, mobile-friendly website brings districtwide resources, program options, and the stories and voices from its community into one accessible experience. Nicely done!

Decatur Public Schools 61

Decatur Public Schools #61 homepage also keeps timely district information easy to find, with featured updates, upcoming events, video spotlights, school calendar details, and other important announcements. It gives Decatur a useful platform for back-to-school communication, district news, and year-round family support.

The “Did You Know?” section adds helpful district context, including fast facts about Decatur’s 15 schools and approximately 7,700 students. For new families, those details offer a quick snapshot of the district’s size, programs, and student community.

The main navigation is built around the needs of several audiences. Families can find information about academics, student and family resources, registration, and more, while staff and job seekers can quickly access careers, human resources, and career opportunities, digital flyers, facility rentals, foundation information, and ways to stay involved.

A few highlights worth checking out:

  • Homepage quick links for calendar, careers, Skyward, menus, digital flyers, and password support
  • Featured district updates and video spotlight content
  • Upcoming events and calendar information
  • Fast facts about schools, students, and class size
  • Navigation for academics, students and families, district resources, community engagement, and careers

Fort Bend ISD

Fort Bend ISD’s new website gives one of Texas’ largest districts a new digital home built to serve families, students, staff, and community members across Sugar Land and the surrounding area.

The homepage puts high-need resources front and center: families can quickly find dedicated entry points for families, students, and the district calendar, while quick links connect visitors to student registration, careers, SIS access, attendance, the student handbook, and more. For a district serving 78,000 students across 78 campuses, that kind of direct access is a major win for busy families (and who isn’t busy?)

The site also gives district storytelling its own branded space through “Around the Bend,” a news section that highlights updates from across FBISD, including theatre awards, yearbook accomplishments, leadership announcements, budget information, and other district stories. It’s an easy way to see what’s happening across schools without having to visit each campus site one by one.

The “Feature Focus” section adds another layer to the homepage by spotlighting the FBISD experience. Stories about Fine Arts Without Limits, inclusive education, and district accomplishments help show the range of opportunities available to students across academics, arts, support services, and student achievement.

Navigation is built for a large district community. Visitors can move between departments, careers, communications, community resources, and individual schools, while the accessibility and translation tools also help the site welcome a wider range of users.

With its AudioEye integration, browsing preferences give visitors more control over contrast, color, text size, and spacing, while Weglot language translation helps families read page content in the language that works best for them.

A few highlights worth checking out:

  • Families, Students, and Calendar entry points at the top of the homepage
  • Quick links for registration, careers, SIS access, school meals, bus routes, and student resources
  • “Around the Bend” district news section
  • Mobile-friendly event cards
  • “Feature Focus” storytelling for fine arts, inclusive education, and district accomplishments
  • By the Numbers section with district-wide stats

Fort Bend ISD’s new website brings scale, service, and storytelling together in one organized experience.

A computer monitor displays an aerial view of a school campus with buses in the foreground, while a tablet shows a website with student photos and text about "Excellence In Motion."

Capital School District

Capital School District’s new website introduces the district with a student-centered experience built around the message “Advancing Educational Excellence Through Innovation.”

The homepage opens with aerial footage of schools and facilities, giving visitors a district-wide view from the start. It’s a fitting way to show the scale of Capital’s community while creating an immediate sense of place across its schools.

From there, the site celebrates the people who help bring that excellence to life. Teacher, behavioral health, and educational support awards give staff recognition a place on the homepage, while student profiles help families understand what it means to be a Senator. The click-through student stories add personality and heart, with examples of leadership, kindness, hard work, and helping others.

The “Excellence in Motion” section brings district updates into one organized area with calendar items, news, events, and social media integration for families and community members to stay connected with what’s happening across the district.

The design is compact and approachable, with parallax movement, student-focused imagery, and a clean layout that makes the homepage easy to scan. Interior pages add more design flexibility through reusable custom tabs and 50/50 card treatments, giving school and district teams useful ways to organize content without overwhelming visitors.

It’s a thoughtful launch with room to grow, and it gives the district an upgraded platform for sharing stories, updates, and resources with its community.

A smartphone displays district news on the left, while a laptop in the background shows an aerial view of a football stadium with the Steubenville City Schools logo and the motto "Educate. Motivate. Inspire."

Steubenville City School District

Steubenville City Schools’ new website brings energy, school pride, and helpful access together in one well-rounded district experience.

The homepage opens with a bold video montage that immediately sets the tone. From the first-person helicopter view to scenes across the district, the hero creates a memorable entrance into the site and connects well to Steubenville’s message: educate, motivate, and inspire.

There is a lot for families, students, staff, alumni, and community members to explore, but the homepage keeps high-need content close. District news, upcoming events, and social media feeds bring fresh updates forward, while sticky calls to action make the lunch menu, calendar, and contact information easy to reach from the page.

The navigation is especially useful for a district site. Families can move quickly into school pages, district information, facilities, parent links, staff links, alumni resources, and contact details so visitors find what they need without digging through several layers of content.

The design also carries Steubenville’s brand with confidence. Red, gray, and white appear across calendar icons, calls to action, content blocks, and navigation, giving the site a consistent look from the homepage through the interior pages. The result feels spirited, organized, and aligned with the district’s Roll Red identity.

The mobile experience supports that same sense of access. Navigation, quick links, and district resources are easy to use on smaller screens, which is important for families who rely on their phones to check calendars, lunch information, announcements, and school updates.

The website is ready to support a busy district community, bringing together school pride, resources, branding, and updates to help every visitor stay connected.

Wayzata Public Schools

Wayzata Public Schools’ new website brings its district story forward with a welcoming experience centered on one strong message: “Excellence. For each and every student.”

The homepage opens with a simple hero slideshow that captures joyful, high-quality moments from across the district. It’s a great example of how a smaller set of strong images can have a bigger impact than an overloaded gallery. The visuals are warm, student-centered, and easy to connect with.

From there, the homepage moves into Wayzata’s strengths, including great teachers, a diverse student body, a variety of classes and opportunities, high test scores, and stable finances, among others. The clickable format gives families and community members an engaging way to learn why the district stands out.

The site also does a great job balancing storytelling with everyday usefulness. District news brings the latest updates forward in a scrollable format, while family and staff testimonials help visitors hear what Wayzata means to the people who learn and work there every day. Those voices add warmth to the district story and reinforce the community behind the schools.

Fast facts give the homepage another helpful layer of proof to highlight both the scale and strength of the district, like 15 award-winning schools, a 97% teacher retention rate, 16 National Blue Ribbon School Awards, and 30 National Merit Semifinalists.

The site also includes Ask AI, giving visitors another way to find information across the district website. Families can ask about policies, calendars, handbooks, athletics, and other high-traffic topics in practically any language, helping them get to the correct, district-approved information with less searching.

A few highlights worth checking out:

  • The simple, high-impact homepage hero slideshow
  • Scrollable district news with pop-up article previews
  • Family and staff testimonials
  • Fast facts and district highlights
  • Ask AI for easier site navigation

Wayzata's new website supports families who need quick answers, staff who need fast access to resources, and community members who want to see the excellence happening across the district.

Congratulations to all districts on their new sites!
