School District Website Inspiration: May 2026
Connor Gleason

May is a busy month! Between graduations, end-of-year celebrations, board meetings, staff transitions, and summer planning, your district's families and communities still need access to the daily logistical information that matters most.

These launches show how a strong website can serve as both a resource hub and a storytelling platform. Take a peek for yourself and see how content, design, and UX can work together to share updates, expand networks, and move users toward meaningful next steps.

Chiefs for Change

Chiefs for Change is live with a new site that brings its mission, impact, and national network of leaders into one place.

As a nonprofit working to transform public education and advance equity, Chiefs for Change's site gives its work room to shine through impact statements, leader profiles, testimonials, and opportunities to get involved.

The homepage uses custom visuals, bold design elements, and mission-driven content to help visitors quickly understand the organization’s purpose and its positive influence on more than five million students.

  • Visitors can learn about the organization’s impact, explore its network of members and alumni, and read stories of inspiring leadership within education.

  • Calls-to-action throughout the site invite people to support the cause, join the network, and amplify what’s working, giving a wide variety of users a meaningful way to connect.

  • There’s also a strong sense of credibility woven throughout the experience. News, events, and impact-focused profiles help show the people behind the mission and the progress being made across public education.

It's a site that feels active, purposeful, and built to support both storytelling and engagement—a great example of an organization that understands the needs of schools, systems, leaders, and the communities they support.

San Marcos Consolidated ISD

San Marcos Consolidated ISD is live with a new website that provides families, staff, students, and community members with a compact yet resource-rich place to stay connected.

Located in the heart of Texas Hill Country, the district quickly delivers users to the info they’re most likely looking for, including upcoming events, district updates, school board agendas, and recent social media posts.

The site holds a lot of information within just a click or two:

  • The site works well as a one-stop shop for its 8,000+ students and their families, complete with district news and everyday resources to support its academics and 20 career and technical education programs of study.

  • If users get turned around, a keyword search bar and quick links make it easier to access high-traffic information about transportation, menus, careers, directories, and more.

  • Visitors can easily jump to individual school sites across the district, each with a similar branded layout for a more consistent experience across its 12 campuses. The navigation gives families and staff several helpful pathways, from student and parent resources to district services and the staff portal.

Congratulations on launching a site that supports its community during one of the busiest times of the school year!
