Software Update: August 11, 2018
Justin Ober

Hello again, everybody!

We have a relatively light update this week, with some tweaks to Composer, Resources, and a rare sighting on this blog by the Commerce Manager module!

We also gave the bottom bar an accessibility refresh, with more color contrast and friendlier ‘hover’ behaviors.

With regards to Composer functionality, we’ve slightly tweaked how Page Permissions work. Going forward, child pages will automatically inherit any access restrictions applied to their parent pages. Further, it will not be possible to create a child page that is less-restricted than its parent page.

Commerce Manager, Finalsite’s item-purchasing module, is now VAT-friendly for schools in the UK and Europe.

Messages is still being updated as it’s built out; you’ll see support for Dynamic Content (Calendar) elements in the module, now.

We are rapidly hurtling toward back-to-school, and Finalsite’s Support and Training teams are working at full tilt. Don’t forget to check out the Knowledge Base and the Finalsite Training sites to brush up on your skills as the school year approaches!

Composer

  • The bottom bar has been cleaned up with new, more accessible colors and friendlier hover behaviors.

  • Page permissions have been updated to prevent child pages from having more-restrictive editing permissions settings than their parents.

Commerce Manager

  • Added VAT support.

Messages (Beta)

  • Calendar Dynamic Content elements are now available.

Resources

  • The names and thumbnails of Resources displayed as a list in a Resource element will now line up properly.
