Good morning!

As I write this it’s early on Friday, June 22, and a few dozen of us just returned last night from a successful (if exhausting!) Finalsite University.

We had a blast meeting our partners, presenting sessions and enjoying the hospitality of our host site.

On the software front, the home office has been busy getting new features into this release. First up, PagePop permissions have been added to Composer! Admins can now go to the Composer > Permissions screen to grant rights to site admins. Admins can be given rights to create and manage PagePops on a per-admin group and per-page basis.

Resources continues to get better and better. User activity on your media resources is now trackable via site analytics, so you can see how well all your slick photos and videos are performing. We’ve made it easier to find and share your files as well - the Resource picker window will pick up where you left off when you’re working with multiple Resources on a page. There are expanded access and saving options in the built-in image editor, and more flexibility for sharing private files. 

You can keep reading for more details about what’s in this week’s release. Finally, one of the big topics of discussion at FSU this year was Messages, our upcoming successor to the venerable eNotify module. We’ve had some beta testers playing around with Messages already but since we officially took the wraps off of it this week, we’re going to start including Messages updates here in the Software Update blog. For now though we’ve had kind of a big week, so Finalsite is taking the day to relax and regroup as a company. Thanks again for another great conference, and have a great weekend!

Composer

• PagePop permissions have been added to the Composer > Permissions screen.

Resources

• When editing images in Resources and selecting the “Save As New” option, you can now choose to save the new file in a different folder and/or with a new filename.
• The Resource Picker window will now remember the folder you were last viewing, for the duration of your admin session.
• It’s now possible to display the title of a Resource without making it a link.
• Fixed a bug that prevented images saved in Resources from appearing when the display area was not loaded with a click (i.e., on a direct link to a specific tab).
• Another bug, one that removed Resources set as a background image when the page was edited, has also been fixed.
• .PSD files will now preview correctly in the information panel.
• Added “No ALT text” and “No Tags” filters.
• Private Resources can now be linked in a Single-format Resource element, rather than having to be in a collection.
• Media Resource activity is now trackable via Google Analytics.

Finalsite Learn - Gradebook Attendance

• When viewing “Excess” attendance issues, teachers can now click on students’ names to see their records.
