Software Updates: June 6, 2020
Lauren Lentini

Pop quiz! How did you access the Software Update blog today? Are you a subscriber who gets an email update whenever we publish? Or did you click on this post from our shiny new Composer Dashboard? If you haven’t had a chance to check out the dashboard, now is a great time to do so. We’re making some tweaks and brush-ups -- like adding commas to numbers 1,000 and higher -- and you can see it all by clicking on the Finalsite logo on the top of your far-left Composer navigation.

From there, head on over to Messages, where you will now be able to export lists, suppressions, and message activity! But first, keep reading for the rest of the details about this week’s release.

Composer Dashboard

  • We’re making some aesthetic edits to improve the experience.

Messages

  • We updated the label in Permissions from “Find Recipients” to “Contacts,” since users with rights to this column will have access to all of the Contacts section--including “Find Recipients” and “Suppressions.” Don’t worry, though, we didn’t change any actual permissions here.

  • We’ve added an Export function to the mailing list, suppressions, and message activity views.

Resources

In our ongoing effort to improve site performance, and thereby SEO and user experience, we have made a number of changes to how Resources are loaded on home pages:

  • Any homepage videos set to autoplay will be limited to 30 seconds in length, at which point they will begin looping. If autoplay videos are placed in a slideshow, they will advance to the next slide after 30 seconds. Videos not set to autoplay will be unaffected.

  • A limit of 20 images will be implemented in homepage slideshow elements. Images outside of the current view will not be loaded until users scroll down to their location on the page.
