Software Updates: May 9, 2020
Lauren Lentini

We're extremely pleased to report that our Software Update blog will soon be even easier to find -- on the new Composer dashboard! The revamped dashboard will provide useful stats, links to resources, feeds from our blogs, and more. Check it out for yourself, just click the Finalsite icon at the top of the main left bar!

Our development team continues to bring you updates for Messages that make your bulk email life a bit easier. In this week’s release, we’re implementing a new feature that allows you to save a row to reuse in other messages or templates. Saving a row includes its structure, style, and content, so you don’t have to redo all your work when you want to create a consistent look between messages. This functionality may reduce the number of templates you need to create, but we’re also releasing another feature to ease the pain of too many templates: search and filter!

Read on to find out more about the brand-new dashboard, the rest of our updates to Messages, as well as some Composer, Resources, and Workflows changes.

New Dashboard

  • After years of waiting, there is finally a New Dashboard in Composer, providing more convenient access to much more relevant information:

    • Stats on the the number of Pages and Posts published, Messages sent and Resources created

    • Quick links off to gain knowledge or receive support

    • A feed from the Finalsite blog so you can stay on top of new tips, trends and best practices

    • Our software update blog! Stay informed about all the cool things included with each update

    • Information about our cool new products!

Composer

  • We’ve corrected an issue where the Job Title was displaying when the field is unchecked for constituent details in the Constituent element.

Messages

  • We’re implementing a new feature where you can save rows in the Messages editor for use in other messages.

  • Previously, there was an issue with adding alt text to image links. Those fields will no longer auto-refresh.

  • It will now be possible to remove admin permissions from a mailing list.

  • The “suppressed” count on the Messages dashboard will now link to the suppressions view.

  • You’ll now be able to filter and search Messages templates.

  • Images from Resources in the body of dynamic content will now display in a message. (It still isn’t recommended to display the body in dynamic content configurations.)

Resources

  • It will now be possible to replace private files with another private file.

Workflows

  • The Contact/File upload process will now be the same as it is in Messages.
