How OHM BOCES Streamlined Accessibility for School Districts with AudioEye Ahead of Title II

Managing accessibility for one website alone can be hard. Managing it for dozens of school districts with a single-person team was becoming nearly impossible.

Every new site added hours of manual work writing alt text, checking color contrast, and reviewing navigation structures. Progress was slow, cumbersome, and hard to scale.

With the 2026 Title II compliance deadline fast approaching, OHM BOCES needed a faster, more reliable way to ensure that every district site met and maintained accessibility standards.

Oneida‑Herkimer‑Madison (OHM) BOCES provides shared educational services to school districts across Central New York. The organization supports a wide range of programs and manages a growing number of school websites on behalf of its districts.

Scaling Accessibility Without Scaling Staff

“We’re supporting more and more districts, and doing everything manually just isn’t sustainable," shared Brian Hauser, webmaster at OHM BOCES.

"We were running scans and adding alt text, but it’s impossible to catch everything. We needed a solution that worked behind the scenes, flagged issues we might miss, and saved us from having to manually fix the same problems over and over again."

When OHM BOCES migrated its websites to Finalsite, the team also implemented AudioEye’s automated accessibility platform. Starting with their main BOCES website and one district site, they activated automated fixes and gained real-time visibility into accessibility issues.

With automation addressing hundreds of issues in real time for every user, the team quickly reclaimed time previously spent on tedious fixes. AudioEye’s dashboards added another layer of value, making it easy to track progress and prioritize areas of focus for more complex accessibility fixes.

Support from both Finalsite and AudioEye helped ensure a fast and smooth rollout without the need for additional training or technical resources, a huge burden lifted for an already busy team.

Since implementing AudioEye, OHM BOCES has significantly improved accessibility across its growing network of district websites, while laying a strong foundation for long-term compliance. The team now has a dependable solution that helps ensure every site aligns with WCAG standards and meets federal requirements.

For a small team managing dozens of sites, automation has made a noticeable difference. Tasks that once required hours of manual work, such as reviewing color contrast, writing alt text, or identifying structural issues, are now handled automatically. This shift has freed up time for broader digital priorities. The AudioEye dashboard has also made it easier to monitor progress and identify areas that need attention.

As the number of supported districts grows, OHM BOCES can continue providing accessible experiences without adding new staff. New school websites can be brought online with confidence, knowing that accessibility is built in from the start.

What began as a support tool for just a few sites has evolved into a key part of the organization’s digital infrastructure and compliance strategy.

“We're in growth mode, taking on more sites, helping more districts, and AudioEye has made it possible to do that without needing a bigger team. It’s made our accessibility process so much more manageable and scalable," said Brian.

Proactive Title II Compliance

AudioEye helps OHM BOCES meet the federal mandate for accessible websites ahead of the 2026 Title II deadline.

Time Savings

Automated fixes reduce the hours spent on repetitive accessibility work, freeing the team to focus on growth and broader digital priorities.

Scale Without Adding Staff

As OHM BOCES supports more school districts, AudioEye makes it easy to maintain accessibility across new websites without the need for additional headcount.

Leading with Confidence on Title II Compliance

Instead of scrambling to meet the 2026 deadline, OHM BOCES is setting the pace. The organization is demonstrating how public institutions can grow their digital footprint while ensuring every student, parent, and community member has equal access to the information they need.

“Having AudioEye is kind of like having built-in security, especially knowing we don’t have to stay on top of every regulation ourselves.”
